Use dark orb in place of great soul arrow (I think it does more damage, but probably less than soul spear, but at least you have a comparable number of spell casts).Ok, you're not getting the Staff of Wisdom for a while then. If you get tired of trying to farm the Lizard Staff, try tracking down the Witchtree Branch.
