You dont need anything crazy unless you autocross or are running 10's. Neither of which are ideal in a 5000+lb truck. I drove from the bay to Yosemite on stock brakes a year ago and descending mountain roads is not fun with the famous wheel wobble and brake warping. This was my main reason for doing the upgrade. The daily driver stopping power feels marginally better than before but IMO the upgrade is about prolonged use performance.This is because the rotors are larger and so can both (a) soak up more heat and (b) dissipate heat more quickly than the smaller Tacoma equivalents.
