Just traded my FJ in for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I tow a 19' Bambi International. Power was not the problem. The Fj has a 19 gallon tank and the best mpg I could get was 11, so I was constantly looking for fuel. the other issue is that while the FJ has a 5000lb tow rating it was limited to a 500lb tonge weight. Tow hitch and wiring harness installation. I installed the Toyota hitch on my 2007 FJ (just for using a hitch-mount bike rack, not towing a trailer) some time back. Toyota dealer said it would be "hard to do", suggested I have them do it (for a lot more money than I was willing to pay), but I did it myself with no problems whatsoever.With the OME lift the a$$ end did not sag near as much as the stock suspension. The FJ is NOT my primary tow vehicle. I tow with a full sized 3/4 ton truck. The FJ did OK in terms of power, but stopping the boat is very questionable IMO. The water is about 50 miles from my house, so I will continue to use my truck.…

Heavy tongue weight greatly helps towing behavior, but it doesn't take much to put a squat on the FJ. I'm guessing I had about 200-250# on my hitch and there was a slight but noticeable sag to rear on the FJ.
