Your rear diff actually never locked. The only way to lock it in is to have the truck in neutral, foot on the brake, transmission in 4X4 Lo and then push the rear lock button. The Tacoma will do 90 percent with 33s and locker the other 10 is for whatever you build. My advice would be just get the off road with the factory locker.
