Roll cage tube size
Does anyone know right off hand what the roll cage tube diameter is. It looks like about 1-5/8 just with a tape. There are three different size clamps available for accessories, but it looks like 1 5/8 to me. Fixing to make my own windshield for my bike. Rod is significantly heavier. For a full cage I think just way too much weight. Tube is also much easier to work with given that it heats up faster. If there will be a lot of direct impact its most important is to make sure you design the cage with proper bracing or it will bend in a hurry whether it's rod or tube.There are no real weight savings to be had in the choice of material; 4130 is stronger than mild steel but weighs essentially the same.
