O2 sensor tap and die
I was fussing around with an o2 that really didn't want to come out. anyways, after soaking it with pb blaster for several hours it decided to release but without the threads. basically the threads from the old sensor are pretty much fused to the exhaust manifold which prevents me from installing a new sensor as there's nothing for it to grab onto.bump. been driving with my o2 sensor dangling under my car for a week. Most tap and die sets will have a little tool that measure the threads. I had to rethread mine but I dont remember what it was sorry. Yep, m18 x 1.5 is right. I had to clean up the threads on my O2 sensor. Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it.There is no overall standard here although M18x1.5 appears to be relatively common. I recommend that you pick the O2 sensor you intend to use for this application and then weld on the bung for that particular model. Otherwise you run the risk of having to redo your welding.
