A few degrees of fluctuation is perfectly normal- so an engine temperature of 195 to 238 degrees F is perfectly normal for a Northstar and is NOTHING to be alarmed about. It's a decent engine, but the Northstar eclipses it in nearly every way. That engine wouldn't be an option for you anyways, unless you sell the car to buy a 4.9 powered one.
