Oct 25, 2011 · Some years ago an indy shop recommended changing my E46 diff fluid with Redline. The rear end "groaned" in turns for days. Another $80 for BMW fluid at my dealer solved the problem. The fluid change had a rather arcane break-in procedure: something like 20 - 25 full-lock left, then right turns. F30 320i.The rear diff and transfer case will take you about 10 minutes ea. to change. The front you need to drop the front skid so it will take you about 20 minutes.
