Re: Lower unit oil --&g The exhaust housing also has this grime in it. This is a late seventies Evinrude 15 hp. Normal for a two stroke. It's partly burnt oil from the fuel. The more you tank test it the more you'll get. Get it on a boat and give it a good run in the ocean. The only way of avoiding it is to buy a four stroke.
