The exact same thing happened to me last week. The ignition tumbler has gone bad. If you really want, you can take the cover off the bottom of the steering column and remove the ignition switch from the end of the lock assembly. You can then actually turn the switch with a screwdriver and get the car started.Needed to share this though.....
