Consider, if anything, that it costs about 3 times as much as a simple oiled foam filter (remember, I'm talking about aftermarket which can be had for about $19 from Dennis Kirk according to a thread in this post), especially with the K&N oiled foam pre-filter included.But if you buy one for $50 new, and $15 for the cleaning kit, the filter should last the vehicle if you owning it for the long haul. A new filter on a Subi is $7-10. Changing once a year is $70-$100 dollars in ten years.
