To understand the effect of lipidic film on the facial skin adhesion behavior, we perform the indentation tests on normal skin, as-moistened skin and moistened skin after 30 min, and Fig. 3 shows the indentation curves under three different conditions. The device measures the penetration depth of the probe indenter (pin) into the skin in mm. (Figure 2) We used two probes with pin diameters of 3 and 5 mm, respectively. The stiffer the skin, the less deep the displacement by the indenter. The smaller the diameter, the deeper the pin will go into the skin when using the same force.
