I have rebuilt the carb on a 72 FJ40 that I am trying to fix up for a friend and keep having issues. The tag says it's a 60205, which looks like a 73 to me when I look up numbers, maybe it doesn't make a difference. I would just buy a new one but none of the carbs I have seen photos of look like this one.

It seems like the linkage to gas pedal rod is on a pretty good angle as well as the linkage to carb rod. It seems like the ball on the gas pedal would be better aligned if it were on the other side. It's a 5/1977 FJ40.

If the fuel is overflowing the bowl from the vent tubes, the quick and EZ thing to do is take the top cover off and clean out the needle valve and make sure the float swings freely.Pick below: I guess that gives me a few options here. 1. Desmog by attaching the distributor to the intake manifold, the diaphram to the base of the carb, and the charcoal canister to the air cleaner. Pull out the VSV. 2.
