Aug 1, 2019 · So I just did the rack delete on my FJ. I ordered the kit directly from Toyota. Everything went smoothly, except for the snap-on installation of the plastic covers. Each of the covers features embossed arrows on them, apparently to help correctly orientate the covers on the roof. Two arrows appear to signify the front vs the rear, and one arrow ...3. 1" Threaded Rod (3/8) = $0.33 a piece at Ace Hardware (you need 4) = $1.32. Hopefully you don't break the welds on the roof nuts. But in any case order rivnuts/threaded inserts what ever you need in case the job goes south and you have to remove the roof liner and replace the broken welded nut.
