Jun 3, 2018. #1. I made the switch to BH 209. I'm having serious trouble with blowback in the primer , breech plug. The primer is solid black and I have to pull it out with pliers. I'm shooting a CVA Accura MR , 110 gr powder , Barnes T ez , and Federal 209 A primers ( witch BH recommend ) . Hi guys, I just finished a test of Blackhorn 209 powder pushing the 260 gr Harvester PT Gold bullet out of my Omega rifle. I mounted a leupold 3-9X40 MZ scope with the BC reticle and zeroed at 100 yds as instructed. Using 100 grs, measured in one of the Blackhorn 209 tubes, I seated the PT Gold bullet in a yellow TC sabot and shot groups at 100yd, 200yd and 300yd.Blackhorn 209 max for any muzzleloading bullet/rifle is 120 grains Volume, 84 grains Weight.
