Just put this tractor back together after getting it in parts and put the 5 ft brush hog on it today. It runs good, starts good and has good oil pressure. Its a 51 side mount. The grass and weeds were thick and almost up to the top of the hood and I was in 1st gear and the tach was at the 538 rpm line.I just rebuilt the carb and it dies on acceleration. I have no idea what's going on. I have new fuel, clean lines and it can't get up to 2000 rpm, separate from the gov even. I've adjusted all the needle valves to specs in the book. (main adjustment 1.5 to 2 turns off bottom, idle needle 1.25 turns of bottom).After my carb on my '48 was rebuilt I only had about half of the throttle to work with. Ignoring, with care, the advice not to mess with the "handy dandy carb tweakums," I followed the suggested carb adjustments given many times on here. It worked and I got an easy starting, full use of throttle from one end to the other, good powered tractor.
