Yes, 3970010 is the Z-28 302. Also used in 350 applications for the Corvette, camaro, Chevt II, Chevelle and passenger. It was also used as a truck block. So yes, the Block number itself does not make it a Z-28. And as mentioned, the VIN Suffix is what makes it so.
